Abstract

The study aims to explore the indicators that affect the quality of life of adults with cancer and to validate a scale for assessing the quality of life of adults with cancer (PedsQLTM, 27 items) on a patient population in Romania. The study also used the Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale (HADS, 14 items), and the Intensive Psychological Assessment Tool (IPAT, 10 items). There were 21 women and 29 men ranging in age from 26 to 87 years (mean age = 58 years 14). The interactions between the HADS-A dependent variable and the independent variables in the dimension are statistically significant (p<0.05, F-test). Perception of physical appearance, I believe I do not look good, I do not want other people to see my scars, I am embarrassed when someone else looks at my body, and the interaction of the dependent variable HADS-D with the independent variable total size of Suffering and pain. The current study demonstrates the validity of the PedsQLTM scale for adult cancer patients in Romania, and the findings may be useful for the holistic adult cancer care team in developing and implementing specific strategies to improve the quality of life of adult cancer patients on a regular basis.
