Abstract

Although Geo-Science education is important, many people in Africa, Egypt in particular, do not know its value and importance. This paper will discuss problems of Geo-education in Egypt using the questionnaire as a tool for data collection to find answers to questions such as: Is the Egyptian community evaluating geo-sciences to support the idea of geo-education? Do students know about Geo-sciences? If no, would they like to learn and if yes, would they like to learn more about it? How can we achieve our goal of simplifying the terms and concepts of Geo-education and making it interesting to students of varying education levels? All these questions will be answered in this paper through applying some powerful tools and contacting both students and teachers to obtain/evaluate opinions about the vision of this issue in different schools at different social levels. Additionally, lecturing some students as a trial application to the idea is needed together with obtaining an output survey from the students. This paper discusses the challenges facing the application of geo-education intensively in Egypt.
