This paper aims to analyse the effect of family structure on children’s school dropout in the Cameroonian context. To do so, we used data from the fourth Cameroonian Household Survey (ECAM 4) in 2014. The logistic model regression was using to analyze the relationship between family structure and children’s dropout. The results suggest that that family structure increase the probability of child dropout to school. In particular, ceteris paribus, the probability of dropping out of school is higher among working children. Therefore, we suggest that authorities and parents should continue efforts to encourage monogamous marriages, discourage divorce and combat child labour.
